Our family first met 'Morey' when he drove our kindergartener from Webster to Stewart each day at noon. She always had so much fun on that short ride with him! Highlight of her day. I still remembr her sweet little voice saying 'my friend Morey said....' So cute! I loved waiting on him at Fryn Pan. He always had a big smile for me. We still have the Santa ornament he gave our daughter on our Christmas tree each year. Your Dad will always be remembered with so much love. Maurice Ekeren will never be forgotten. Dean, Kristine, Sebastian & Trynn, You are all in our prayers.

My condolences to Morey’s family. I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him very long. We met him at McDonald’s, one of his favorite morning stops. I know Morey was very proud of his Marine Corps service and many thanks to him and his family for his service and sacrifice. He will be greatly missed!

We moved here 2 1/2 years ago. We started to go to McD in the morning for breakfast, there was always this loud group of people. We commented to each other each time about the noise. One day this small grey haired lady came over to introduce herself, that was B.J. Soon to follow was Maury. They were quite the couple with their own routine. I always say, some how we were sucked into this noisy group. Maury was always the kindest person to me. I tell my friends in Idaho that I met new friends at McD. They get a kick out of that, we had no McDonalds. Thank you to Maury and Bonnie for including us in the group. Maury you will be missed.

Morey was the best mailman. He was always on time, always had a smile and would take only a moment to say good morning as he would say "have to keep going, have more mail to deliver." He smoked a pipe and it had a very pleasant smell. I am guessing he smoked it to keep the gnats and mosquitoes away. He and JoEtte were known for many years, as my husband Jim was the custodian at Stewart for years. Morey was a friend to thousand of families. He was missed when he retired from the post office
